Here are photos of Midget Wrestlers who performed
during the Golden Age.
Below the pictures is a clarification of the term
"midget" from the Little People of America website.
Many thanks to Greg Oliver of SLAM! Wrestling for
contributing photos for this gallery. We highly
recommend his books, co-authored by Steve
Johnson, in The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame series.
Their book on the midget wrestlers is in progress.
A: In some circles, a midget is the term used for a proportionate dwarf.
However, the term has fallen into disfavor and is considered offensive by
most people of short stature. The term dates back to 1865, the height of the
"freak show" era, and was generally applied only to short-statured persons
who were displayed for public amusement, which is why it is considered so
unacceptable today.
Such terms as dwarf, little person, LP, and person of short stature are all
acceptable, but most people would rather be referred to by their name than
by a label.

Pancho the Bull
(Ferdinand Tucci) Pancho the Bull was one of Canada's outstanding midget wrestlers, a hard working and
talented athlete as well as a gentleman and devoted father. Above (left) he is shown in a
1969 tag match with Little Beaver, whom he personally coached and taught the tricks of
the trade. The photo on the right was taken during a promotional tour in Hollywood. When
Pancho the Bull passed away on July 3, 1977, the wrestling world, of fans and fellow
performers alike, lost one its brightest stars.
